Look back What did you do? What could you improve? | This year I have organised a clothing drive for the people of Christchurch after the earthquake. I did narrative writing for the MADE awards, and I completed chemistry this term. I’m still not sure what an Interaction is. I need to try and do more typing on the computer without as much teacher help. |
Questions What questions have you answered? What questions do you still have? | I know how to organise a clothing drive. I know how to write a narrative story. I know how to use our cool science trolley. I know how to debate. I think outside of the square now with the help of P4C. I want to know how to make my own cricket bat, and how to brand it under my name. |
Pull it apart What factors contributed to your learning? What challenged you? | The computers. Internet. IWB Science trolley The chess sets What an Interaction was. The Must Dos and Picks in Term 3 |
Make connections What did you learn to do better? What sort of thinking helped you? | My time management is a lot better. I can plan my day to include all the tasks I need to do. P4C has helped me to think on the spot. SCAMPER - helped me to think creatively. |
Make judgements My progress was... | I ask a lot more questions than I use to. I can work by myself, or with others happily. I am a lot more organised. I am more focussed on completing tasks. |

I have been impressed with your enthusiasm during our science talent development. You are becoming more confident to join in our discussions, as you always listen with interest to others. You clarify anything that you are unsure of by asking questions - it is so important that you continue to do this when learning new concepts. You worked well with Jordan last Thursday to make your own lava lamp. This reaction was instant and you were able to make connections from the previous week with our floating currents activity. You have worked well throughout the term on your Must Do and Picks sheet - you have made great progress with your time management. Well done Bede.

Science Talent Development.
Today we did two experiments they both involved ice. One was to see which one would melt the quickest we had three ice cubes each. One was raro and another one was a sugary cube and a plain water one. Raro was first Sugary was second and plain water was third. And then we did another experiment was similar but one ice cube with salt another was an ice cube with sugar and one was with nothing. Sugar was first salt was second and plain water was third, and both of my hypothesis's were wrong.

Teacher Comment
Bede.
It was great to see you and Jacob see your passion project through to the end. Your idea to organise a clothing drive was both thoughtful and practical. When you can see the purpose to your learning, you give it your all. I have enjoyed reading your regular blog posts about each Thursday at Enrich. You are a polite classmate and you are using your time at Enrich wisely. I am looking forward to Term 3 with you.
