Today at Enrich I did science and we made FOOD! First we made bread. We had to make the dough first, and leave it so that the yeast would work with the warm water and start the reaction. While that was happening, we made sherbet. We had to taste-test each ingredient: Icing Sugar, Raro, Baking Soda, Citric Acid and Tartaric Acid. We had to comment on what each one tasted like:Icing Sugar: Sweet
Raro: Orange, Sweet and Sour
Baking Soda: Sour
Citric Acid: Sour
Tartaric Acid: Yuck!
The last thing we made was hokey pokey. We melted golden syrup and sugar until it boiled. We added baking soda, which made the mixture bubble. We put it in the freezer to set.
